EFEKTIVITAS COACHING GROW ME DALAM MEMBANTU GURU SD MERANCANG MATERI AJAR MATEMATIKA BERBASIS CONCRETE-PICTORIAL-ABSTRACT

Abstract

Pembelajaran matematika kelas 1 dan 2 merupakan dasar pengenalan matematika pada tingkat sekolah dasar. Guru perlu merancang strategi yang efektif dalam pembelajaran matematika. Strategi yang efektif dalam pembelajaran matematika kelas 1 dan 2 adalah menggunakan pendekatan concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA). Hasil pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa guru tidak melaksanakan tahapan pendekatan CPA tersebut atau guru masih mengajar matematika dengan cara konvensional. Penelitian ini mengkaji efektivitas coaching GROW ME dalam membantu guru kelas 1 dan 2 merancang materi ajar matematika berbasis CPA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa coaching GROW ME efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam merancang materi ajar berbasis CPA. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode wawancara dan rubrik penilaian untuk mengumpulkan data. Hasil analisis menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman guru tentang pendekatan CPA dalam pembelajaran matematika dan kemampuan mereka dalam merancang materi ajar yang sesuai dengan pendekatan tersebut. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menunjukkan nilai kompetensi guru kelas 1 dan 2 dalam mengajar matematika mencapai nilai di atas 3,26 (tinggi). Coaching GROW ME terbukti sebagai metode yang efektif untuk membantu guru dalam merancang materi ajar pelajaran matematika berbasis CPA. Kata kunci: GROW ME; matematika; concrete-pictorial-abstract. Abstract: Learning mathematics in grades 1 and 2 served as the foundation for introducing mathematics at the elementary school level. Teachers needed to design effective strategies for mathematics instruction. An effective strategy in teaching mathematics to grades 1 and 2 was using the concrete-pictorial-abstract (CPA) approach. Observations showed that teachers either did not implement these CPA stages or still taught mathematics conventionally. This study examined the effectiveness of the GROW ME coaching method in assisting grade 1 and 2 mathematics teachers to design CPA-based instructional materials. The research findings indicated that GROW ME coaching was effective in enhancing teachers' competence in designing CPA-based instructional materials. The study employed interview methods and assessment rubrics to gather data. The analysis results demonstrated an improvement in teachers' understanding of the CPA approach and their ability to design instructional materials suitable for this approach. Additionally, the research showed that the competence of grade 1 and 2 mathematics teachers had reached scores above 3.26 (high). GROW ME coaching had proven to be an effective method in aiding teachers to design CPA-based instructional materials.
