AbstractThis study aims to find out about the mythical folklore contained in the life of the Mempawah Malay community by describing them. This research also discusses the pragmatic studies contained in the speech. This research is in the form of qualitative research with descriptive methods. Sources of data in this study are speeches from informants with data in the form of stories of myths that exist in Mempawah's Malay community. Based on the results of data analysis, there are three forms of myth, namely the myth of abstinence, myth of origin and myth of animals. as well as the utterances contained in the mythical storytelling, three utterances are found, namely speech of locus, illocutionary, and perlocution. In the myth of abstinence, there are 37 stories, 6 origin myths, and 11 animal myths. With the pragmatic study contained in the speech, there are 9 locusive speeches, 20 illocutionary speeches, and 24 locus speeches. The implementation plan of learning the results of this research is combined with Indonesian language learning in class VII odd semesters with KD 3.3 to identify the elements of the narrative text. 4.3 retelling the contents of the narrative text.Keywords, Myths, Pragmatic Studies, Mempawah Malay Community
