AbstractThis study aims to determine the teacher's perception of the impact of using gadgets on children aged 5-6 years in Southeast Pontianak District. In this study, the researcher used a descriptive quantitative approach. The sample in this study was 40 kindergarten teachers who were randomly selected from 17 kindergartens in Southeast Pontianak. To find out the teacher's perception of the impact of using gadgets on children aged 5-6 years, a closed questionnaire was used. Based on the results of the study, teachers' perceptions of the impact of using gadgets on children aged 5-6 years were divided into two, namely the negative impact and the positive impact. The positive impact of using gadgets is increasing children's motor skills which can be seen from the creativity of drawing, increasing cognitive abilities which can be seen from the increased curiosity of children and gadgets are very helpful in the learning process, especially during the pandemic due to the covid-19 virus. Meanwhile, the negative impact due to the use of gadgets is a decrease in concentration, addiction, a negative impact on language development and social emotional development of children if the use of gadgets is not accompanied by supervision from the child's parents.Keywords: gadget, teacher’s perception
