AbstractThis study discusses the application of a semi-automated system to book lending services at the Pontianak City library. The puspose of this study was to determine the implementation of the semi automated system in the Pontianak City Library and the obstacles encountered in the book lending service during the implementation of the semi automated system. This study uses a descriptive method with a quality approarch. Collecting data in this study using observation, interview and documentation techniques. Informants in this study of the Head of the Pontianak City Library Service, Processing Officers, and Circulation Service Officer. From the results of this study, it was found that the Pontianak City Library still implements a semi automated system. The Pontianak City Library wants to implement a complete automation system, but there are budget constraints. Currently being prepared bythe Pontianak City Library are human resources, infrastructure and budget. Supporting facilities are computers with Inlislite version 3 software installed to process library material data. On book lending services using automated and manual systems. Circulation services at the Pontianak City Library are carried out in accordance with the established SOP. Constraints faced are related to a minimal budget, computers sometimes experience internet problems, book lending services are slowly, and the process of inputting data to a computer takes a long time.Keywords : Automation, Semi, Book Borrowing
