<![CDATA[The discussion in this journal highlights the importance of understanding Asbabun nuzul, the context behind the revelation of Qur'anic verses. The Qur'an is the word of Allah revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through the Angel Jibril, in both its wording and meaning, serving as guidance for humanity toward a clear and straight path, as the foundation for a life rooted in faith in Allah and His message. This study aims to examine Asbabun nuzul comprehensively, including its historical development, types, methods of understanding it, and its significance in interpreting Qur'anic verses. The method used is library research, which involves collecting, reading, and recording data and theoretical foundations from various sources such as books, scientific works, previous studies, journals, articles, and other references relevant to the topic. The results of the study show that understanding Asbabun nuzul facilitates accurate interpretation and reduces doubts when interpreting Qur'anic verses. In conclusion, Asbabun nuzul serves as a crucial basis for explaining the background of the revelation of specific verses or groups of verses, often related to particular events or questions directed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).]]>
