Abstract

This study aims to examine the typology of community participation in the tourism village development program in Timusu Village, Liliriaja District, Soppeng Regency. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study integrates in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation to explore the role of the community in the tourism village development process. The concept of community participation from Tosun (1999), which includes spontaneous participation, encouraged participation, and forced participation, is used as an analytical framework. The results of the study indicate that community participation in Timusu Village is dominated by encouraged participation, where the community is involved at the direction of the local and village governments. However, spontaneous initiatives from the community are still very limited, indicating the need for a more inclusive empowerment strategy. This study provides important insights into the dynamics of community participation in the context of tourism village development, while highlighting the importance of collaboration between the government, the community, and other stakeholders. The practical implications of these findings can be used to improve the effectiveness of sustainable and community-based tourism village development programs Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji tipologi partisipasi masyarakat dalam program pengembangan desa wisata di Desa Timusu, Kecamatan Liliriaja, Kabupaten Soppeng.
