This study aims to analyze the influence of cultural factors on family resource management and the standard of living of poor families in Timor-Leste, as well as the moderating role of empowerment in this relationship. Using a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method, this study examines the relationship between variables through data collected from poor families in the region. The results show that cultural factors have a positive and significant influence on family resource management and standard of living. In addition, empowerment is proven to moderate the relationship between cultural factors and family standard of living, indicating that empowerment efforts can strengthen the impact of cultural factors in improving the standard of living. Family resource management also plays an important role in influencing the standard of living of families. These findings emphasize the importance of considering cultural factors and empowerment in policies aimed at improving the welfare of poor families.
