A Leak Testing Machine is a tool that determines the leakage level by applying a specific air pressure to the material being tested. This tool is designed for packaging plastic bottles. This research aims to create an automatic Leak Testing Machine to detect bottle leaks. In addition, air pressure testing is carried out by varying the time and hole diameter to obtain the correct time parameters and hole diameter at optimal air pressure. The work sequence of this Leak Testing Machine uses a PLC and a conveyor drive system using a 3-phase induction motor. Conveyor speed regulation uses an inverter, while air pressure regulation uses a Pressure Vacuum Controller. The research showed that at a hole diameter of 2 mm, the average air pressure data obtained in the bottle was 185.2 kPa for 2 seconds, 155 kPa for 5 seconds, and 135 kPa for 7 seconds. With a hole diameter of 4 mm, the average air pressure data on the bottle is 170.8 kPa for 3 seconds, 139.4 kPa for 5 seconds, and 121.2 kPa for 7 seconds. With a hole diameter of 6 mm, the average air pressure data on the bottle is 153.4 kPa for 2 seconds, 123.6 kPa for 5 seconds, and 113.4 kPa for 7 seconds. The greater the leak in the test bottle, the smaller the air pressure in the test bottle. The longer the leak testing time on the test bottle, the lower the pressure.
