ABSTRAK: Penyediaan bibit kopi arabika yang berkualitas merupakan salah satu faktor yang menentukan produksinya. Aplikasi bahan organik pada media tanam bibit kopi arabika diharapkan dapat memperbaiki sifat kimia tanah dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan bibit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kompos daun johar terhadap sifat kimia tanah Inceptisol yang digunakan sebagai media tanam bibit kopi arabika. Aplikasi berbagai dosis kompos daun johar (0, 9, 11, 13 dan 15 g/polybag) yang diulang sebanyak 4 kali ditata menurut rancangan acak kelompok (RAK). Sifat kimia tanah yang diamati meliputi kadar C-organik, kadar N-total, nisbah C/N, kadar P-tersedia, kadar K-tersedia, reaksi tanah (pH) dan KTK tanah. Parameter tanaman yang diamati adalah bobot kering bibit. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanah Inceptisol yang diaplikasikan kompos daun johar sebanyak 13 g/polybag meningkatkan nilai pH tanah mendekati netral, C-organik, N-total, P-tersedia, K-tersedia dan KTK tanah, menurunkan nisbah C/N serta meningkatkan bobot kering bibit lebih tinggi pada umur 16 minggu sesudah tanam. ABSTRACT: Provision of quality Arabica coffee seedlings is one of the factors that determine its production. Application of organic materials to the planting medium of Arabica coffee seedlings is expected to improve the chemical properties of the soil and increase seedling growth. This study aims to determine the effect of johar leaf compost on the chemical properties of Inceptisol soil used as a planting medium for Arabica coffee seedlings. Application of various doses of johar leaf compost (0, 9, 11, 13 and 15 g/polybag) which were repeated 4 times were arranged according to a Randomized Block Design (RBD). The observed chemical properties of the soil included organic C content, total N content, C/N ratio, available P content, available K content, soil reaction (pH) and soil CEC. The observed plant parameters were dry weight of seedlings. The results of the study showed that Inceptisol soil that was applied with 13 g/polybag of johar leaf compost increased the soil pH value to near neutral, organic C, total N, available P, available K and soil CEC, reduced the C/N ratio and increased the dry weight of seedlings higher at the age of 16 weeks after planting.
