Data was collected using the listening method and the skill method. The speech events studied were those of Indonesian language students at Thammasat University, Thailand. The referential subtype matching method was used to analyze the data. Apart from that, data analysis also uses the Miles and Huberman model. The results of the research show that there is code-mixing in the speech of Thammasat University students who are studying Indonesian through the BIPA Program. This type of code-mixing is external code mixing because code mixing occurs between Indonesian and a foreign language (Thai). The factors that influence the occurrence of code-mixing are the speaker and the topic of conversation. It is hoped that the results of this research can be used as teaching material for BIPA and Sociolinguistics.
