Abstract

Dalam era informasi yang berkembang pesat, manajemen arsip menjadi krusial bagi organisasi, termasuk lembaga pendidikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengeksplorasi praktik manajemen arsip dokumen di SMKS PGRI 1 Ngawi, Jawa Timur. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini menganalisis prosedur pengelolaan arsip, tantangan yang dihadapi, dan dampaknya terhadap efisiensi administrasi. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi terhadap proses pengelolaan surat masuk dan keluar, arsip ijazah, serta buku induk siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun SMKS PGRI 1 Ngawi telah menerapkan prosedur pengelolaan arsip, masih terdapat tantangan seperti kurangnya pemahaman staf dan sistem yang terintegrasi. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi untuk meningkatkan sistem manajemen arsip, sehingga dapat mendukung transparansi dan akuntabilitas dalam pengelolaan informasi. Diharapkan, hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi referensi bagi lembaga pendidikan lain untuk meningkatkan praktik manajemen arsip mereka ABSTRACT In the rapidly growing information age, records management is crucial for organizations, including educational institutions. This research aims to explore document archive management practices at SMKS PGRI 1 Ngawi, East Java. Using a qualitative descriptive method, this study analyzes the archive management procedures, the challenges faced, and the impact on administrative efficiency. Data collection was conducted through observation of the process of managing incoming and outgoing letters, diploma archives, and student master books. The results showed that although SMKS PGRI 1 Ngawi has implemented records management procedures, there are still challenges such as a lack of staff understanding and an integrated system. This study provides recommendations to improve the records management system, so that it can support transparency and accountability in information management. Hopefully, the results of this study can serve as a reference for other educational institutions to improve their records management practices
