Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the resistance of marginalized people to hegemony and domination by the dominant in the novel Pasung Jiwa by Okky Madasari. In this study utilized the theory of hegemony and dominance of Antonio Gramsci and also the concept of freedom Nico Syukur Dister. This research is qualitative research. The results of this study found hegemony and dominance over dangdut lovers, domination of transgender, and domination of workers. Resistance is carried out by marginalized people by echoing the freedom to be themselves. Thus, it can be concluded that hegemony and domination are considered oppressive acts and make humans or groups unable to express their own desires. Keywords: Freedom, Hegemony, Domination, Sociology of Literature   Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis resistensi yang dilakukan oleh kaum marginal terhadap hegemoni dan dominasi oleh kaum dominan dalam novel Pasung Jiwa karya Okky Madasari. Dalam penelitian ini dimanfaatkan teori hegemoni dan dominasi Antonio Gramsci dan juga konsep kebebasan Nico Syukur Dister. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini ditemukan adanya hegemoni dan dominasi terhadap pecinta dangdut, dominasi terhadap transgender, dan dominasi terhadap buruh. Resistensi dilakukan oleh kaum marginal dengan menggaungkan kebebasan menjadi diri sendiri. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa hegemoni dan dominasi dianggap suatu tindakan menindas dan membuat manusia atau kelompok tidak bisa mengekspresikan keinginan mereka sendiri.
