This research aims to reveal colonial and postcolonial discourses by comparing two novels born in different political and historial situations, namelu Boenga Roos dari Tjikembang published in 1927 and Perempuan Bernama Arjuna 6: Sundanologi dalam Fiksi which published in 2017, as well as understanding Chinese-ness of the two authors who are Chinese descent and non Chinese descent respectively. With time span of almost 100 years, there will certainly be many differences in ideas. This research focuses its analysis on the discourse of Chinese-ness as well as colonial and postcolonial discourses in the two novels. There are 1) colonial discourse in the form of mimicry concept is found in the novel Boenga Roos dari Tjikembang 2) Postcolonial discourse in the form of ambivalence is found in the novel Perempuan Bernama Arjuna 6: Sundanologi dalam Fiksi.
