<![CDATA[This study explores how coaches use verbal and nonverbal communication to enhance the abilities of basketball players at SMAN 1 Medan, as well as to teach them the tactics and concepts of basketball. Additionally, the study examines the elements that support and hinder interpersonal communication and the coaches' motivation in training the basketball team participants at SMAN 1 Medan. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study, the research aims to understand the social phenomena involved. The results indicate that the basketball team at SMAN 1 Medan has successfully developed young players with a strong desire to learn, improve their skills, and compete outside the school environment. The pattern of interpersonal communication between coaches and players is effective, supported by various positive elements, such as the active involvement of parents who provide advice and support to the basketball team. These findings highlight the importance of effective interpersonal communication and external support in creating a productive and harmonious training environment, which, in turn, contributes to the development and success of young players.]]>
