This research aims to solve the challenges of implementing the Independent Curriculum in Biology subjects at SMA Negeri 1 Lahewa. This research highlights the difficulties faced by teachers and students as well as the impact of the quality and availability of educational resources on the success of curriculum implementation. Using a qualitative approach, data collection was carried out through interviews, observation and document analysis. The research results show that teachers experience obstacles in understanding the principles of the Independent Curriculum, and limited practicum resources hinder the implementation of project-based learning. Students also have difficulty adapting to the independent and active learning methods that are at the core of the Merdeka Curriculum. In addition, the quality and availability of educational resources, including practical tools, learning materials and teacher support, have been proven to have a significant influence on the effectiveness of learning at SMA Negeri 1 Lahewa ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tantangan dalam implementasi Kurikulum Merdeka pada mata pelajaran Biologi di SMA Negeri 1 Lahewa. Penelitian ini menyoroti kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh guru dan siswa serta dampak kualitas dan ketersediaan sumber daya pendidikan terhadap keberhasilan penerapan kurikulum tersebut. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para guru mengalami kendala dalam memahami prinsip Kurikulum Merdeka, serta terbatasnya sumber daya praktikum menghambat penerapan pembelajaran berbasis proyek. Siswa juga kesulitan beradaptasi dengan metode pembelajaran mandiri dan aktif yang menjadi inti dari Kurikulum Merdeka. Selain itu, kualitas dan ketersediaan sumber daya pendidikan, termasuk alat praktikum, materi pembelajaran, dan dukungan dari guru, terbukti berpengaruh signifikan terhadap efektivitas pembelajaran di SMA Negeri 1 Lahewa.
