This study aims to analyze middle school students' perceptions of using the Lemon8 application to enhance their English vocabulary mastery. Using a qualitative method with a case study approach, this research involved ten students who had used Lemon8 for one month. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation, then analyzed using thematic analysis based on Vygotsky's sociocultural theory, which emphasizes the role of social interaction in learning. The findings indicate that 80% of students found Lemon8 engaging, 70% considered the application effective in improving vocabulary, and 80% stated that it was easily accessible. However, several challenges were identified, such as its content being more focused on entertainment rather than education and the lack of practice and evaluation features to measure students’ vocabulary development. Additionally, technical challenges such as unstable internet connectivity and limited access to devices were also observed in this study. These findings suggest that Lemon8 has potential as an interactive learning tool to support English vocabulary mastery, but further development is needed to optimize its effectiveness in formal educational settings.
