The Mekartani Community faces two major challenges in managing its hydroponic garden, the high electricity costs for operating the Internet of Things (IoT)-based system and the discontinuation of internet connectivity support from the local government, which has rendered the automation system unable to function optimally. This community service program was implemented to support the adoption of renewable energy through the installation of a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) system integrated with an Internet of Things (IoT)- based hydroponic unit at the Mekartani Community Hydroponic Garden, RW 016, Mekarjaya Village, Depok. The activities began with coordination with the RW and Village Team, inspection of existing components, and updating the IoT-based monitoring system. By installing mobile Wi-Fi devices and IoT- based power meters, electricity consumption was monitored for one month to determine the appropriate energy requirements, averaging 3.6 kWh per day. The installation of solar panels and improvement of the IoT-based monitoring system was carried out by the Energy Conversion Engineering Technology Lecturers Team from PNJ, along with PNJ students. Operational and maintenance training on the PLTS and IoT hydroponic system was provided to the community to ensure system sustainability. Survey results indicated that more than 90% of the partners experienced benefits from this program, in terms of ease of maintenance and hydroponic monitoring, supporting both environmental sustainability and the community’s economy.
