This study aims to know the students’ ability to design the lesson plan. Students are expected to have the ability to design science learning plan based guided discovery. Science learning based guided discovery according to the research it has a good impact for both the result of the study and the students’ ability. Method in this study is qualitative research by descriptive research approach. The research subject is the students of science learning of PGMI STAI Darul Ulum Kandangan. The result of study showed that the students’ ability in designing the lesson plan is low. It could bee seen from the result of the reseach that more that 50% of the students’ ability is in low and very low level, because 18 from 33 responses were in low and very low level of ability.
