Abstract

Asthma-COPD overlap syndrome (ACOS) is characterized by persistent airflow limitation with several features usually associated with asthma and with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). ACOS is identified by the shared features of both asthma and COPD. Spirometry demonstrates expiratory airflow limitation that is not completely reversible. Treatment is with low or moderate dose inhaled corticosteroid and add-on long-acting bronchodilators.
