Terdapat beberapa pendekatan imunoterapi seperti vaksin kanker, virus onkolitik, transfer sel adoptif, antibodi monoklonal penghambat CTLA-4, PD-1, dll. Beberapa jenis dari terapi tersebut telah disetujui oleh US FDA untuk terapi kanker. Cancer immunotherapy means modulating and using patient’s immune system to target the cancer cells rather than using an extrinsic means of therapy. It is designed to activate or enhance the immune system’s recognition and killing of the cancer cells.
