<![CDATA[This research is based on problems found in elementary school, namely the low student learning outcomes seen in the Class V science and science subject at SD Negeri 97 Baliara. The aim of this research is to describe the application of diagnostic assessment to improve the learning outcomes of class V students at SD Negeri 97 Baliara. The approach used in this research is qualitative with the type of classroom action research (PTK). The research subjects were class V teachers and class V students at SD Negeri 97 Baliara with a total of 10 students consisting of 6 boys and 4 girls. The data collection techniques used are observation, tests and documentation. The results of this research show that there is a systematic process that is considered effective in providing changes to improve learning outcomes in class V, such as student activity seen in discussing and sharing knowledge. This is proven by each of them having responsibility for mastering parts of the learning material and being able to teach the material to their friends. The conclusion of this research is that through the implementation of this assessment, student learning outcomes in class V science and science subjects at SD Negeri 97 Baliara can be improved.]]>
