This Classroom Action Research (PTK) focuses on the reading comprehension ability of class IV students at UPTD SD Negeri 28. This research is qualitative research with data collection techniques used, namely observation, tests and documentation. The research subjects were teachers and students of class IV UPTD SD Negeri 28 Parepare, totaling 28 students and 1 teacher. The research was carried out in two cycles. In cycle I, the research results on the learning process from teacher activities were in the good qualification (B), student activities were in the Fair qualification (C) and the evaluation results obtained an average score of 75.71 with a completion percentage of 67.85%. Meanwhile, in cycle II, the results of research on the learning process from teacher and student activities were in good qualifications (B) and the evaluation results obtained an average score of 86 with a completion percentage of 89.28%. The conclusion of this research is that the application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model can improve the reading comprehension process and ability of Class IV UPTD SDN 28 Parepare students.
