Abstract

The causes of divorce are varied, with one significant factor being parental pressure. This research addresses the dilemma of whether to maintain the household or comply with parental wishes. The study employs the library research method. When prioritizing between obeying parental orders to divorce and choosing to maintain the household, both positive law in Indonesia and Islamic law are aligned on this matter. It is permissible not to follow parental divorce commands as long as these orders lack strong justification and do not result in any benefit.
