Metacognition is the awareness of students about their thought processes and monitoring them. This research aims to measure students' metacognition in solving mathematical problems in class VIII number pattern material at SMPN 2 Keruak for the 2023/2024 academic year. This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. This research was conducted at SMPN 2 Keruak with a sample of 20 people from class VIII C. From the results of the study, the level of metacognition of students was obtained, namely tacit use with a percentage of 35%, aware use with a rate of 40%, strategic use with a percentage of 20% and reflective use with a percentage 5%. The level of metacognition in tacit use shows that students can only know some of the important information in the problem, the level of metacognition in aware use shows that students can know important information in the problem, but experience doubts about the problems in the problem, the level of metacognition in strategic use shows that students are aware of self-regulation in their thinking processes and the level of metacognition in reflective use shows that students have self-reflection in their thinking processes.
