Abstract

Errors that are often made by students in solving math problems in the form of stories are such as errors in understanding concepts, errors in changing story problems in mathematical form and operating errors. Lack of self-confidence of students is one of the contributing factors. This study aims to describe the level of self-efficacy and student errors in solving story problems and to find out the relationship between self-efficacy and student errors in solving math story problems. This research uses mixed methods with quantitative and qualitative approaches. The research population was 330 students with a research sample of 32 students. The sampling technique used purposive random sampling and the determination of the number of samples using the Sloven formula. Collecting data using a questionnaire instrument, test questions, and interview guidelines. Data analysis techniques in the form of correlation test and descriptive statistics. The results showed the value of atau , dimana hasil tersebut lebih dari atau . This means that between self-efficacy and student errors in solving mathematical story problems with linear equations one variable has a negative relationship, namely the higher the student's self-efficacy, the lower the errors made by students. On the other hand, the lower the student's self-efficacy level, the higher the errors made by students in solving the story problems of the one-variable linear equation material

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui level berpikir van Hiele pada siswa, menganalisis kesalahan siswa dan faktor penyebab kesalahan menggunakan prosedur Newman pada soal segiempat dan segitiga. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan subjek dalam penelitian ini menggunakan purposive sampling. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah Van Hiele Geometry Test (VHGT), tes segiempat dan segitiga beserta wawancara. Subjek penelitian ini sebanyak 30 siswa menyelesaikan Van Hiele Geometry Test (VHGT) dan terpilih 6 siswa untuk perwakilan level berpikir van Hiele. Level yang dicapai oleh siswa yaitu level 0 (visualisasi), level 1 (analisis), dan level 2 (deduksi informal). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan (1) siswa level 0 melakukan kesalahan Newman pada jenis comprehension, transformation, process skill, dan encoding. (2) siswa level 1 melakukan kesalahan Newman pada jenis kesalahan transformation, process skill dan encoding. (3) siswa level 2 melakukan kesalahan Newman pada jenis kesalahan process skill dan encoding. Faktor penyebab siswa melakukan kesalahan yaitu tidak mengetahui informasi yang ada pada soal segiempat dan segitiga, tidak mengetahui rumus apa yang digunakan untuk menyelesaikan soal segiempat dan segitiga, tidak menyelesaikan proses perhitungan, dan tidak menuliskan kesimpulan.

Abstract

Kemampuan koneksi matematis merupakan kemampuan yang perlu dimiliki oleh siswa. Terdapat 3 aspek kemampuan koneksi matematis yang digunakan dalam penelitian yaitu 1) menghubungkan antara konsep matematika yang sudah dipelajari dengan yang sedang dipelajari, 2) menghubungkan koneksi antar konsep suatu matematika dengan konsep bidang ilmu yang lain, dan 3) menghubungkan antara konsep matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan koneksi matematis dalam menyelesaikan soal investigasi pada materi bangun ruang sisi datar ditinjau dari jenis kelamin pada siswa SMP Negeri 1 Keruak tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Penelitian ini adalah jenis penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan soal tes koneksi matematika dan pedoman wawancara. Teknik analisi data melalui proses reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan koneksi matematis pada siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan tinggi memenuhi ketiga aspek koneksi matematis. Siswa laki-laki berkemampuan sedang mampu memenuhi 3 aspek koneksi matematis, walaupun kurang dalam aspek kedua dan siswa perempuan berkemampuan sedang memenuhi 3 aspek koneksi matematis. Siswa laki-laki dan perempuan berkemampuan rendah tidak mampu memenuhi ketiga aspek koneksi matematis. Perbedaan kemampuan koneksi matematis antara laki-laki dan perempuan terletak pada kemampuan siswa perempuan lebih unggul daripada siswa laki-laki dalam aspek kedua dan lebih teliti dan detail dalam menuliskan prosedur penyelesaian matematika.

Abstract

Penalaran proporsional merupakan penalaran yang mencakup pemahaman tentang keserupaan struktur dua relasi dalam masalah proporsional. Kemampuan Penalaran proporsional merupakan salah satu kemampuan yang harus dipahami dan dikuasai oleh siswa dalam mempelajari matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan penalaran proporsional pada materi perbandingan ditinjau dari gaya belajar siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 1 Narmada Tahun Ajaran 2023/2024. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah deskriptif pendekatan kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian terdiri dari 6 orang. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi kuesioner, tes, dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh; (1) Siswa dengan gaya belajar visual mampu dalam mengenali perbedaan antara perubahan absolut (aditif), relatif (multiplikatif) dan mampu menentukan penggunaan rasio yang masuk akal atau tepat. Tetapi belum mampu dalam menginterpretasikan angka rasional tetap, tidak berubah atau invariant dan juga belum mampu membangun struktur unit (pengelompokkan); (2) Siswa dengan gaya belajar auditorial mampu dalam mengenali perbedaan antara perubahan absolut (aditif), relatif (multiplikatif), mampu menentukan penggunaan rasio yang masuk akal atau tepat dan mampu menginterpretasikan angka rasional tetap, tidak berubah atau invariant. Tetapi belum mampu membangun struktur unit (pengelompokkan); (3) Siswa dengan gaya belajar kinestetik hanya mampu dalam membangun struktur unit (pengelompokkan). Tetapi belum mampu dalam mengenali perbedaan antara perubahan absolut (aditif), relatif (multiplikatif), menentukan penggunaan rasio yang masuk akal atau tepat dan menginterpretasikan angka rasional tetap, tidak berubah atau invariant.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan oleh siswa menurut metode Newman dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita materi perbandingan senilai dan perbandingan berbalik nilai ditinjau dari kecerdasan logis matematis pada siswa SMPN 1 Suralaga. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan subjek penelitian siswa kelas VII A SMPN 1 Suralaga. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi tes tertulis dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, verifikasi, dan pengecekan keabsahan data. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh (1) Siswa pada kategori kecerdasan logis matematis tinggi sudah mampu melewati semua tahap yaitu, membaca soal, memahami masalah, transformasi masalah, keterampilan proses, dan penulisan jawaban akhir. (2) Siswa pada kategori kecerdasan logis matematis sedang belum mampu melewati semua tahap, yaitu melakukan kesalahan pada tahap keterampilan proses dan penulisan jawaban akhir. (3) Siswa pada kategori kecerdasan logis matematis rendah tidak mampu melewati semua tahap, yaitu melakukan kesalahan pada hampir semua tahapan diantaranya, memahami masalah, transformasi masalah, keterampilan proses, dan penulisan jawaban akhir. Sehingga dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa terdapat 4 jenis kesalahan dari 5 jenis kesalahan dalam metode Newman yang dilakukan oleh siswa, yaitu kesalahan memahami soal, kesalahan tranformasi soal, kesalahan proses, serta kesalahan dalam menulis jawaban akhir.

Abstract

Inorganic waste is waste that is difficult to decompose, for example, plastic snacks, plastic bags, plastic/glass bottles, etc. Handling inorganic waste requires attention because wise methods are needed to manage and recycle inorganic waste properly. Because in reality, inorganic waste is the largest waste produced by humans. This can be seen from the accumulation of plastic waste around humans. Therefore, this activity aims to provide students with direct knowledge of how to process inorganic waste into valuable products. The method used in this journal is a qualitative descriptive method. This activity was carried out in class VIII I of SMP Negeri 7 Mstaram starting from 2 – 26 October 2023. The total number of students in this class is 40 students. The method of implementing this activity includes several stages, namely the problem identification stage, the action planning stage, the action implementation stage, and the final stage is turning around the results and actions. The products produced from processing this inorganic waste are handicrafts such as pencil cases, flower vases, pots, cars, and so on. Then the students' handicrafts were packaged and displayed. It is hoped that this activity can continue to be carried out and developed by the school to improve the quality of learning and improve student performance in processing and utilizing inorganic waste effectively and efficiently.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the ability to solve mathematical problems in terms of the level of mathematical communication skills of class IX students at SMPN 1 Batulayar for the 2023/2024 academic year. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative. Based on the results of data analysis, students with high mathematical communication skills were able to fulfill several indicators of problem-solving ability, such as the second and third indicators correctly, although there were students who were able to fulfill the first indicator on several questions. For mathematical communication skills, students in the moderate category are able to fulfill several problem-solving indicators, such as the second and third indicators, although they are not yet complete, but are not yet able to fulfill the first and fourth indicators. Meanwhile, students with low mathematical communication skills have not been able to fulfill the four indicators of mathematical problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between the ability to memorize the Qur'an and the mathematics learning outcomes of 11th-grade students at MA Putri Al-Aziziyah in the 2023/2024 academic year. Memorizing the Qur'an requires a high level of concentration, which also plays a role in enhancing brain performance. When brain cells are utilized positively and actively, brain performance improves, making students who are accustomed to memorizing the Qur'an tend to have better cognitive function. This research is a correlational study with a quantitative approach, involving 63 samples from a total of 170 students. Data was collected through oral tests and interviews and analyzed using the Pearson product-moment correlation. The results indicate that both mathematics learning outcomes and the ability to memorize the Qur'an are very good. The data shows that 57.14% of students have memorized 1-10 juz, 14.28% have memorized 11-20 juz, and 28.58% have memorized 21-30 juz. Based on the data analysis, a significance value of 0.042 < 0.05 was obtained, indicating a positive relationship between the ability to memorize the Qur'an and mathematics learning outcomes, with a correlation value of 0.257, signifying a weak relationship between the two variables.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze student errors in solving word problems in terms of learning attitudes in class VII students at SMPN 15 Mataram in the 2023/2024 academic year using the Newman procedure. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The sample used was 30 people from class VII-B with the sampling technique used was purposive sampling with data collection techniques carried out by tests, questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that students with a high learning attitude, with a total of 3 students, made 11.11% errors in Comprehension Errors, 22.22% transformation errors, 27.78% process skill errors, and 61.11% encoding errors. . Students with moderate learning attitudes, numbering 23 students, made errors in reading errors as much as 15.21%, Comprehension Errors as much as 31.88%, transformation errors as much as 44.92%, process skill errors as much as 62.31%, and encoding errors as much as 57.98%. Students with low learning attitudes, with a total of 4 students, made errors in reading errors as much as 25%, Comprehension Errors as much as 29.16%, transformation errors as much as 50%, process skill errors as much as 62.5%, and encoding errors as much as 100%. The causes of students making mistakes are weak understanding of concepts, limited ability to read and understand questions, lack of problem solving strategies, lack of practice and experience, and lack of self-confidence.

Abstract

The problem of scheduling teaching and learning activities is a problem that occurs at SMAN 1 Aikmel. The problem is that there are several teachers teaching two different subjects at the same time in different classes. This problem will be solved by applying the concept of graph coloring using an algorithm Recursive Largest First. This article presents the application of the concept of graph coloring in preparing a schedule for teaching and learning activities at SMAN 1 Aikmel. Based on the scheduling data, the adjacency matrix of the scheduling graph is obtained. By using an algorithm Recursive Largest First The chromatic number is 3. Apart from that, it is also found that the maximum number of nodes in one color is 23 nodes. This shows that schedules can be made without overlap at SMAN 1 Ailkmel which has 23 rooms.
