This will have a negative impact on educational goals if it is not balanced with teaching and mentoring by teachers. It is very important for teachers to instill character education in the thoughts and actions of students amid increasingly rapid technological developments. Specifically, for Islamic religious education teachers, this research focuses on qualitative research using a literature study approach. This research aims to see how Islamic religious education teachers played a role in developing students' religious character in the Era of Society 5.0. The results show that Islamic religious education teachers are very important in building character in the era of Society 5.0, including their roles as facilitators, motivators, mentors, teachers, and demonstrators. Moreover, Islamic religious education teachers should be role models (uswatun Hasanahl) for their students. Character education in the current era not only focuses on the realm of attitudes, but must also be accompanied by developments in technological knowledge in the era of Society 5.0.
