Optimizing digital media in learning Islamic Religious Education (PAI) is very important in this digital era, considering the high use of the internet among the younger generation. This study examines the potential, application, and challenges of using digital media for Islamic Education learning through the literature method. The results show that online platforms, interactive learning videos, and mobile apps can increase student engagement, information accessibility, and support inclusive and interactive learning. Digital media also integrates educational theories such as behaviorism, cognitivism, and constructivism. Key challenges include limited infrastructure, lack of teacher training and difficulties in ensuring content quality. Therefore, a strategic approach, improved digital literacy and effective learning design are needed. This study recommends improving teachers' ability to utilize technology as well as developing evaluation methods that suit digital learning, which is expected to improve the quality of Islamic religious education in Indonesia as global technology develops.
