<![CDATA[This study outlines the importance of teaching interfaith respect and appreciating local culture starting from elementary school. Indonesia, which has many religions, tribes, and cultures, still experiences problems with low understanding of the importance of tolerance. One of the main reasons is the lack of knowledge in society. This study aims to investigate how Islamic education can build attitudes of tolerance and coexistence among elementary school students. The method used is literature analysis by examining information from various sources such as books, journals, and research articles. The results of the study show that the role of teachers is very important not only in academic aspects, but also in instilling Islamic values, introducing diversity, and carrying out activities that help build attitudes of tolerance. Islamic education contributes to shaping students' character so that they can live harmoniously amidst differences. Therefore, it is hoped that educators can create effective ways to insert attitudes of tolerance from the beginning in the elementary school environment.]]>
