Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of guided inquiry learning model in improving students' creative thinking abilities on elasticity and Hooke™s law. The study used a two-group pretes and posttest design. The population of this study consisted of 5 classes and sampling was carried out with cluster random sampling, consisting of two classes, namely experimental class XI IPA 5 which was treated with a guided inquiry learning model and control class XI IPA 4 which was treated with conventional learning. This research data was collected using an essay test of 20 questions that had been validated in advance. The data analysis used is to use the t-test. The results of data analysis of creative thinking abilities before being treated in the experimental class obtained an average score of 20.55 and the control class was 23.75. After being given treatment, the average score of creative thinking abilities of the experimental class students was 59.22 and the control class was 52.42. After analysis, it can be concluded that there is an influenceof the application of the guided inquiry learning model on students™ creative thinking abilities.Keywords: guided inquiry, creative thinking ability
