In this discussion, the researcher will explain the lag in developing a multicultural Islamic education curriculum in Islamic educational institutions, especially in disadvantaged areas or in remote villages. Here researchers use qualitative research methods that rely on the study of literature. This study aims to identify the factors of underdevelopment of curriculum development in rural areas and find effective solutions and strategies to address these problems. The results of this study indicate that the underdevelopment of multicultural Islamic education curriculum development in Islamic educational institutions in rural areas is caused by several factors, including lack of support from the government and the community, as well as the lack of quality of Education received by teachers and students. Therefore, this study recommends that the development of multicultural Islamic education curriculum should be carried out more comprehensively and pay attention to local needs and culture. In addition, the study also recommends that governments and communities should provide better support to Islamic educational institutions in rural areas to improve the quality of Education received by learners.
