<![CDATA[Abstract - The purpose of this study was to determine the duties and roles of secretary in the success of the performance directors in the company. Increasingly competitive business world and transparansif. Therefore, secretary required for smarter and more effective in carrying out its performance. There is a shift assignments of roles of secretary in the past and the future. Secretary demanded more professional, full of knowledge and skills in the art. Secretary role is no less important in the company is to solve the problems in the company and simplify the implementation of the work to facilitate the task of directors. The role of secretary is required to be performed in any situation to required a professional secretary. Secretary need to develop themselves through increased competence so really capable and high quality in assisting directors. Success of the directors performance can not be separated from the role of secretary in the company. Dunia bisnis semakin kompetitif dan transparansif. Karena itu, sekretaris dituntut untuk lebih cerdas dan lebih efektif dalam menjalankan kinerjanya. Ada sebuah pergeseran tugas dan peran sekretaris di masa lalu dan masa depan. Sekretaris dituntut lebih profesional, penuh pengetahuan dan ketrampilan dibidangnya. Peranan sekretaris yang tidak kalah pentingnya didalam perusahaan adalah untuk memecahkan masalah dalam perusahaan dan menyederhanakan pelaksanaan pekerjaan untuk memperlancar tugas direksi. Begitu besarnya peranan sekretaris bagi perusahaan sehingga ia dituntut untuk bisa tampil pada situasi apapun untuk itu dibutuhkan seorang sekretaris yang professional. Sekretaris perlu mengembangkan diri melalui peningkatan kompetensinya sehingga benar-benar mampu dan berkualitas tinggi dalam membantu direksi.
