This study aims to identify the characteristics and methodology underlying Allamah Muhammad Husayn Thabathaba'i's Tafsir Al-Mizan, as one of the most influential Shia interpretations. The research method used is qualitative with a library research approach, which includes data collection from primary sources (Tafsir Al-Mizan) and secondary sources such as books, scientific articles, and journals. Data analysis was carried out critically to explore how rationality, esotericism, and Shia ideology are constructed in the interpretation. The results of the study indicate that Tafsir Al-Mizan emphasizes the role of Ahlul Bait as the main authority in interpretation, integrates a rational-philosophical approach, and uses esoteric methods to explore the hidden meanings of the Al-Qur'an, which makes a significant contribution to understanding the holy book from a Shia perspective.
