Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the types of verb conjugation errors in preference expressions of 4th-semester Unimed students in simple sentences in French, explore the errors in the use of articles defined by 4th-semester Unimed students in preference expressions, especially in simple sentences in French. The problems of this study are: what are the differences in verb conjugation errors in preference expressions of 4th-semester students, and what are the errors in the use of definite articles in preference expressions of 4th-semester students? This research uses descriptive methods and qualitative research methods. The results of the research conducted allow us to conclude that there are forms of errors in the use of preference expressions. The forms of errors observed vary greatly and can be detailed as follows: the forms of errors observed, there are forms of errors that are most often found in students’ writing, namely grammatical errors of definite articles, which amount to 116, and grammatical errors of verb conjugation which amount to 69. Then, the rest are grammatical errors in prepositions and grammatical errors in verbs in the infinitive. The writing ability of Unimed reg b 2022 students is still low, as evidenced by their many mistakes.
