Abstract One of the reasons why there are still many women aged 10 to 54 years who do not use contraception is a lack of knowledge and education about contraceptive methods. One strategy to change this behavior is to provide information to new mothers about postnatal contraception to increase their awareness, this can be done through counseling. The Balanced Counseling Method (SKB) for family planning was developed to add alternative family planning counseling methods that can be used by family planning service providers. The background to the development of the Balanced Counseling Strategy began in Peru in 2000. In a study conducted in Peru. The client's answers to these questions guide the course of counseling so that it will be specific to the client's life situation and desires. With SKB KB media, clients can choose the method that best meets their current needs. To continue counseling using this method, the officer must react and respond to the client's answers. Before family planning counseling, the majority of mothers chose hormonal contraceptives. pills/injections (61%) for reasons of ease of use and previous experience, while after counseling with the Family Planning SKB the choice of birth control switched to postpartum MKJP (IUD, Implant, MAL) as much as (50.0%)
