This research is motivated by the issues faced in the 9th grade of SMP IT Al-Hijrah Medan, where student participation and activity in Arabic language learning are still low, as well as the discrepancy between theory and the application of the Index Card Match strategy. The purpose of this study is to determine the implementation of the Index Card Match strategy in Arabic language learning in the 9th grade of SMP IT Al-Hijrah Medan and to identify the obstacles and problems faced. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. The data was collected through observation, documentation, and interviews, followed by analysis in three main steps: data reduction, data presentation, and verification. The data was then validated using triangulation techniques. The results of the study explain that the problems encountered in the implementation of the Index Card Match strategy in Arabic language learning include the limited time allocation given by the school for Arabic lessons, students' limited vocabulary (mufrodat), as well as limitations in students' academic abilities and educational backgrounds.
