Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of information technology and competence on employee performance at the Regional Civil Service Agency (BKD) of East Kalimantan Province. The research used a quantitative approach with a survey method involving the entire population of 95 employees, using a Google Form-based questionnaire. Data were analyzed through validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, multiple linear regression, and both partial and simultaneous hypothesis testing using SPSS version 25. The results show that both information technology and competence have a positive and significant effect on employee performance, both partially and simultaneously. However, competence has a more dominant influence than information technology. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.223 indicates that these two variables explain 22.3% of the variance in employee performance. These findings emphasize the importance of developing employee competencies and optimizing information systems to support improved performance in public sector bureaucracy
