Abstract

Sebagai salah satu bentuk warisan budaya lokal, Songket Palembang memiliki nilai estetika tinggi untuk diadaptasi ke dalam desain arsitektur kontemporer. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis wujud penerapan motif Songket Palembang pada fasad bangunan sebagai bentuk penerapan arsitektur neo-vernakular. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif, penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan observasi lapangan, serta studi literatur mengenai pola-pola songket. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas penerapan motif songket pada bangunan pemerintahan di Kota Palembang dalam mendukung konsep arsitektur neo-vernakular. Analisis dilakukan untuk menilai sejauh mana motif songket berkontribusi terhadap estetika, identitas budaya, serta fungsionalitas bangunan dalam konteks modern. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan desain arsitektur yang mengedepankan integrasi antara tradisi dan arsitektur kontemporer, serta menjadi referensi bagi arsitek dan desainer yang ingin memadukan unsur budaya ke dalam karya mereka. As a form of local cultural heritage, the Palembang Songket has high aesthetic value and can be effectively adapted into contemporary architectural design. This research aims to identify and analyze the application of Palembang Songket motifs on building facades as a form of neo-vernacular architecture. Through a qualitative approach, this research employs a case study method, incorporating field observations and a literature review on songket patterns. This research aims to evaluate the effectiveness of songket motif application on government buildings in Palembang City in supporting the concept of neo-vernacular architecture. The analysis was conducted to assess the extent to which songket motifs contribute to the aesthetics, cultural identity, and functionality of buildings in a modern context. The results of this research are expected to contribute to the development of architectural design that emphasizes the integration of tradition and contemporary architecture, as well as serve as a reference for architects and designers who wish to incorporate cultural elements into their work
