PENGARUH DISIPLIN KERJA DAN KOMPETENSI PENGAWAS TERHADAP KINERJA PENGAWAS SEKOLAH PADA DINAS PENDIDIKAN KABUPATEN ASAHAN

Abstract

Abstract: The research aims to analyze the problems that have occurred in the Asahan Regency Education Office is about the performance of school supervisors which is classified as not good in terms of work discipline and supervisory competence school. In contrast to previous research which focused more on teachers and school principals, this study pays special attention to the role of School Supervisor as a Strategic Position in Improving Quality education in the region but is often ignored in academic studies. Research this aims to find out: (1) the influence of work discipline on the performance of school supervisors; (2) the influence of supervisory competence on supervisor performance; and (3) the influence of work discipline and supervisory competence simultaneously on the performance of school supervisors. The population of this study is all school supervisors within the scope of the District Education Office Asahan, has 35 supervisors. The sample taken from the entire population was 35 supervisors by taking a census sample. Data were collected using a questionnaire filled out by respondents and processed using regression analysis. The results of the study showed that: (1) There is a very significant positive influence between work discipline on supervisor performance of 0.5066 or 50.66% of the proportion of supervisor performance variance can be explained by the level of work discipline; (2) There is a very significant positive influence between supervisor competence on supervisor performance of 0.5938 or 59.38% of the proportion of supervisor performance variance can be explained by the level of supervisor competence; and (3) There is a positive influence between work discipline and supervisorcompetence together on supervisor performance of 0.7106 or 71.06%. Based on the result of the analysis against 35 shool supervisor, it was found that work discipline and competence supervisors have a significant and positive influence simultaneously on the performance of the supevisors of the Asahan Regency Education Office and these findings it is expected to provide new insights to the management education to improve the performance of school supervisor through Competency Development and Strengthening Work Discipline through Activities Education and Training. Keywords: Work Discipline, Supervisory Competence, and Supervisory Performance Abstrak: Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisis permasalahan yang selama ini terjadi di Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Asahan yaitu tentang kinerja pengawas sekolah yang tergolong kurang baik ditinjau dari disiplin kerja dan kompetensi pengawas sekolah. Berbeda dengan penelitian sebelumnya yang lebih banyak berfokus pada guru dan kepala sekolah, penelitian ini memberikan perhatian khusus pada peran pengawas sekolah sebagai posisi strategis dalam meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan di daerah, namun sering kurang perhatian dalam kajian akademik.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) pengaruh disiplin kerja terhadap kinerja pengawas sekolah; (2) pengaruh kompetensi pengawas terhadap kinerja pengawas sekolah; dan (3) pengaruh disiplin kerja dan kompetensi pengawas secara simultan terhadap kinerja pengawas sekolah. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh pengawas sekolah yang berada di lingkup Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Asahan berjumlah 35 orang pengawas. Sampel yang diambil seluruh dari populasi berjumlah 35 orang pengawas dengan mengambil sampel secara sensus. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan angket yang diisi oleh responden dan diolah dengan menggunakan analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa : (1) Terdapat pengaruh positif yang sangat signifikan antara disiplin kerja terhadap kinerja pengawas sebesar 0,5066 atau 50,66% proporsi variansi kinerja pengawas dapat dijelaskan oleh tingkat disiplin kerja; (2) Terdapat pengaruh positif yang sangat signifikan antara kompetensi pengawas terhadap kinerja pengawas sebesar 0,5938 atau 59,38% proporsi variansi kinerja pengawas dapat dijelaskan oleh tingkat kompetensi pengawas; dan (3) Terdapat pengaruh positif antara disiplin kerja dan kompetensi pengawas secara bersama-sama terhadap kinerja pengawas sebesar 0,7106 atau 71,06%. Berdasarkan hasil analisis terhadap 35 pengawas sekolah, ditemukan bahwa disiplin kerja dan kompetensi pengawas memiliki pengaruh signifikan dan positif secara simultan terhadap kinerja pengawas Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Asahan dan temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan wawasan baru kepada pihak manajemen pendidikan untuk meningkatkan kinerja pengawas sekolah melalui pengembangan kompetensi dan penguatan disiplin kerja misalnya kegiatan Pendidikan dan Latihan. Kata kunci: Disiplin Kerja, Kompetensi Pengawas, dan Kinerja Pengawas
