Married life is a dynamic journey involving two individuals bound in a commitment to build a stable and harmonious household. However, the reality of family life often presents a variety of challenges such as persistent arguments, jealousy, domestic violence, infidelity, conflicting values, and even divorce. These issues can significantly disrupt the emotional balance and unity of a family. As such, family counseling serves as a crucial intervention method to restore harmony, promote understanding, and rebuild relationships within the family system. This article aims to review and analyze the role of counselors in fostering family harmony and unity through various family counseling approaches. Counselors are not only facilitators of communication but also play a strategic role in conflict resolution, emotional support, and behavior restructuring among family members. By exploring diverse counseling models and techniques—such as structural, strategic, and systemic approaches—this review seeks to highlight how counselors address both immediate issues and deeper relational dynamics.
