The competition in food industry amid the raw material scarcity nowadays has urged operational managers to design more efficient production processes. Gapura, an SME in Batu City, is a home industry that produces five variants of fruit chips in several package sizes. Its production process is still hampered by unspecified layout arrangements, which prevents the attainment of maximum production line efficiency. the objective of this research is to identify the groupings of working elements and the efficiency of the fruit chips production in Gapura. Here line balancing method was used to analyze the production efficiency. The data of this quantitative descriptive study was harvested from observations, interviews, and documentation on the related object. This study finds that the production process in the enterprise has not applied the line balancing concept. In fact, the application of this method can reduce balance delay by 15.7% and increase line efficiency by 15.7%.
