A descriptive approach is a method in examining the status of a group of people, an object, a condition, a system of thought, or an event at the present time. The descriptive method aims to create a description, picture or painting systematically, factually or actually regarding the facts, characteristics and relationships between the phenomena being studied. Based on the results of the research and analysis conducted by the author, it can be concluded that the meugang tradition of the Acehnese people from the perspective of the hadith in Mataie, Darul Imarah District, Aceh Besar Regency, namely: this meugang tradition does not conflict with Islam and the hadith, even contains values that are in line with Islam if carried out with the right intentions and methods. Meugang is an activity of cleansing oneself physically and spiritually, which is actually in line with Islamic teachings about the importance of cleansing oneself and preparing oneself for worship. In Islam, cleansing oneself physically and spiritually is a process of preparation for worship and getting closer to Allah. According to the opinion of one of the people, the meugang tradition does not conflict with Islamic teachings, but is a tradition that emerged due to the influence of Islam in Aceh, namely the tradition of cooking meat and sharing it with neighbors or other people who are more in need during the run-up to Ramadan, Eid al-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha.
