This research aims to determine the application of animation films media in order to improve the ability to write anecdotal texts in students. The study was conducted on students of class X IPA 7 at SMAN 15 Surabaya. This research was a classroom action research study consisting of two cycles. Classroom action research is focused on improving the ability to write anecdotal text of students when learning slimming. The results of the research showed an increase both in terms of the anecdotal writing learning process (student cooperation, student initiative, student attention, and systematic work), as well as the quality of student skills results (students' ability to express ideas, vocabulary, use of EBI, and evaluation).
