ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the role of the "Merdeka Belajar" Curriculum in Islamic Education (PAI) subjects in strengthening students' character at Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 1 Serang and Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) 2 Serang. This curriculum approach emphasizes flexibility in learning, differentiation, and character development through religious values. The research method employed is descriptive qualitative, using data collection techniques such as interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that implementing the "Merdeka Belajar" Curriculum in PAI subjects at both madrasahs successfully integrates character-based learning, including honesty, responsibility, tolerance, and cooperation. This is reflected in the students' improved understanding of religious values relevant to contemporary challenges. Furthermore, support from teachers, facilities, and parental involvement has reinforced the successful implementation of this curriculum. This study recommends enhancing teacher training and optimizing project-based materials for the sustainable strengthening of students' character
