<![CDATA[Contemporary theology is the result of the critical thinking of theologians who discuss theological issues that develop today that are not relevant to what the Bible says. Contemporary theology has an important role in the academic world as a branch of knowledge that allows many people to understand various religious concepts in the context of today. In this rapid development, contemporary theology is able to help students, scholars and researchers to reflect on religious and ethical values in a modern context. The purpose of this study is to analyze the role of contemporary theology as a division within theological science and explore the academic implications in understanding the relationship between religion and science. In addition, this study also identifies the main characteristics of contemporary theology, such as its academic, empirical, non-permanent nature, as well as its approach that takes the Bible as the object of study. The novelty of this research lies in its approach that highlights contemporary theology as a discipline that is not only academic but also serves as a bridge between religion and science. The method used in this scientific work is descriptive qualitative research method. The author will describe the important parts in it by using reference materials such as books, journals, articles and other scientific papers to describe the parts of the study.AbstrakTeologi kontemporer merupakan hasil dari pemikiran kritis para teolog yang membahas mengenai isu-isu teolpgi yang berkembang pada masa kini yang tidak relevan dengan apa yang dikatakan Alkitab. Teologi kontemporer memiliki peran yang penting dalam dunia akademik sebagai cabang ilmu yang memungkinkan banyak orang untuk memahami beragam konsep agama dalam konteks zaman sekarang. Dalam perkembangan yang semakin pesat ini, teologi kontemporer mampu untuk membantu siswa, mahasiswa dan para peneliti untuk merenungkan nilai-nilai keagamaan dan etika dalam konteks modern. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis peran teologi kontemporer sebagai sebuah divisi dalam ilmu teologi serta mengeksplorasi implikasi akademik dalam memahami hubungan antara agama dan ilmu pengetahuan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga mengidentifikasi karakteristik utama teologi kontemporer, seperti sifat akademik, empiris, non-permanen, serta pendekatannya yang menjadikan Alkitab sebagai objek penelitian. Kebaruan daalm penelitian ini terletak pada pendekatannya yang menyoroti teologi kontemporer sebagai disiplin ilmu yang tidak hanya bersifat akademik tetapi juga berfungsi sebagai jembatan antara agama dan ilmu pengetahuan. Metode yang digunakan dalam karya ilmiah ini ialah metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Penulis akan mendeskripsikan bagian-bagian penting didalamnya dengan menggunakan bahan acuan seperti buku, jurnal, artikel maupun tulisan karya ilmiah lainnya untuk mendeskripsikan bagian-bagian penting dalam teologi kontemporer.an berdasarkan penelitian teologi kontemporer ialah sebuah divisi ilmu teologi yaitu teologi kontemporer disiplin ilmu yang memeriksa antara kepercayaan agama dengan ilmu pengetahuan.]]>
