<![CDATA[The increasing number of drug users in Indonesia, including students, college students, and prisoners, has led to significant changes in the personalities and mental health of those involved. Therefore, this study focuses on the personality profiles associated with drug addiction in inmates. The purpose of this study is to analyze the personality characteristics of inmates involved in drug cases and the psychological effects of addiction on their social, cognitive, and affective aspects. Primary data collection was conducted through direct observation, interviews, document analysis, and the use of relevant psychological tests. The results indicate that inmates involved in drug cases experience problems with social interaction, concentration, and decision-making, as well as emotional instability such as anxiety, depression, and regret. The ego-avoidance mechanism of repression was also identified as a reaction to childhood trauma and an unsupportive social environment. The effects of drug addiction are evident in feelings of anxiety, worry, and physical dependence when not using drugs. Guidance and rehabilitation efforts in prisons must address psychological, social, and environmental dimensions to ensure effective recovery and reduce the risk of relapse.]]>
