This article aims to systematically review the literature on the integration of green banking concepts with Islamic economic principles in promoting a sustainable financial system. Using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, this study analyzes 30 academic articles published between 2014 and 2024, selected based on established inclusion and exclusion criteria. The findings reveal that green banking practices grounded in maqasid al-shariah can enhance social justice, environmental stewardship, and the effectiveness of Islamic financial intermediation. Nevertheless, several challenges persist, including weak regulatory frameworks, low public awareness of Islamic green finance, and the lack of comprehensive indicators that integrate spiritual, social, and ecological dimensions. This article provides a conceptual synthesis and thematic map that serve as a foundation for the future development of Islamic green banking models.
