PENERAPAN CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING (CTL) UNTUK MENGAJARKAN STRUKTUR PELENGKAP ARAH (趋向补语qūxiàng bǔyǔ) BAHASA MANDARIN DI UNIVERSITAS KRISTEN INDONESIA

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study discusses the implementation of Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach to teach the Chinese Complete Directions (CD) structure. To be able to understand the PA well, the learners must be able to understand where the speaker and what reference because PA is very thick with the feel of place deixis. Therefore, researchers apply the CTL approach to teach PA. This study is a classroom action research that lasts for two cycles. Classroom action research is a research conducted by teachers themselves to evaluate and improve the quality of classroom teaching. In the teaching of this CD, researchers who simultaneously act as instructors conduct research for two cycles. The result of cycle I shows a good understanding of CD structure but not yet accompanied by contextual understanding of CD. After the application of cycle II, the result is almost the same between understanding the structure and contextual understanding of PA. Keywords: classroom action research, CTL approach, complement of directions, Mandarin ABSTRAK Penelitian ini membahas tentang pengimplementasian pendekatan Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) untuk mengajarkan struktur Pelengkap Arah (PA) bahasa Mandarin. Untuk dapat memahami PA dengan baik, pemelajar harus mampu memahami di mana penutur dan apa acuannya karena PA ini amat kental dengan nuansa deiksis tempat. Oleh karena itu, peneliti menerapkan pendekatan CTL untuk mengajarkan PA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang berlangsung selama dua siklus. Penelitian tindakan kelas merupakan penelitian yang dilakukan oleh pengajar sendiri untuk mengevaluasi dan meningkatkan kualitas pengajaran di kelas. Dalam pengajaran PA ini, peneliti yang sekaligus bertindak sebagai pengajar melakukan penelitian selama dua siklus. Hasil siklus I menunjukkan adanya pemahaman struktur PA yang baik tetapi belum diiringi dengan pemahaman kontekstual PA. Setelah penerapan siklus II diperoleh hasil yang hampir sama antara pemahaman struktur dan pemahaman kontekstual PA.
