Abstract

Appendictomy is a surgical procedure performed to treat appendicitis, which involves removing the inflamed appendix. To reduce the risk of complications such as perforation, peritonitis or abscess, this procedure should be performed as soon as possible. Damage to tissues can result in an unpleasant sensory and emotional experience known as pain. Pain management can be done with pharmacological and non-pharmacological measures. Pharmacological measures involve the administration of analgesics to relieve pain. While one of the non-pharmacological measures includes pain management interventions such as finger grasping. The purpose of this study was to determine the application of finger grasp relaxation therapy to pain intensity in patients with appendictomy postoperative. This type of method in this study uses descriptive using a case study approach. The subjects in this study used 15 respondents who experienced mild pain (1-3), moderate pain (4-6). The results of the study before being given finger grip relaxation therapy the average pain was on pain scale 4 (moderate pain). The results of the study after being given finger grip relaxation technique therapy for 3 days there was a decrease in the average value of the pain scale, namely the average pain scale of 3 (mild). It can be concluded that the application of finger grasping relaxation therapy can reduce the intensity of postoperative appendictomy pain with a decrease in pain intensity from a scale of 3 (mild pain).
