MASTERY OF THE LAMPUNG SCRIPT FONT IN THE DIGITAL ERA: EFFORTS TO ENHANCE THE COMPETENCE OF PROSPECTIVE LAMPUNG LANGUAGE EDUCATORS This study aims to analyze the level of mastery of the Had Lampung font among students of the Lampung Language Education Study Program in the context of digital-based learning. The focus is to determine how well students understand, operate, and utilize the Had Lampung font as a medium for preserving regional scripts in the era of information technology. This research employed a qualitative descriptive method with participants from the 2023 and 2024 cohorts who had taken courses related to the Lampung script. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings revealed that although most students have been introduced to and have attempted to use the Had Lampung font, their technical and conceptual understanding still requires improvement. The main obstacles include limited socialization, lack of training, and low digital literacy in applying regional script fonts. However, the study also highlights that digital technology integration offers significant potential for strengthening Lampung script preservation through interactive learning media, digital design works, and online publications. Therefore, mastering the Had Lampung font is not only a technical skill but also an essential professional competence for future Lampung language educators to adapt to technological advancements and actively preserve regional cultural heritage in the global era.
