This study examines the mispronunciation of Indonesian phonemes by second-grade students of SD Nahdlatul Ulama Kaplongan, Indramayu, when reading phonemes, words, phrases, and sentences. This research was carried out with a qualitative descriptive approach, through a data collection process carried out through direct observation and documentation of eight students. The results of the analysis showed that there were various types of phonological errors, such as substitution, distortion, and sound omission. The results of the analysis showed that most of the pronunciation mistakes made by students fell under the phoneme substitution type, with a total of six cases. In addition, one case was found for errors in the form of distortions and omissions each. These findings confirm the importance of implementing learning methods that focus on intensive reading exercises and consistent articulation training, to help students improve their literacy skills, especially in phonological aspects. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini mengkaji kekeliruan pelafalan fonem Bahasa Indonesia oleh siswa kelas II SD Nahdlatul Ulama Kaplongan, Indramayu, saat membaca fonem, kata, frasa, dan kalimat. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, melalui proses pengumpulan data yang dilakukan melalui pengamatan langsung serta dokumentasi terhadap delapan siswa. Hasil analisis menunjukkan adanya berbagai jenis kesalahan fonologis, seperti substitusi, distorsi, dan omisi bunyi. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar kesalahan pelafalan yang dilakukan siswa termasuk dalam jenis substitusi fonem, dengan total enam kasus. Selain itu, masing-masing satu kasus ditemukan untuk kesalahan berupa distorsi dan omisi. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya penerapan metode pembelajaran yang menitikberatkan pada latihan membaca yang intensif dan pelatihan artikulasi secara konsisten, guna membantu siswa meningkatkan kemampuan literasi mereka, terutama dalam aspek fonologis.
